I’ve been doing Death Care for over 35 years. I was introduced to the end of life doula world as a practice from a clients daughter from the west coast.  Since certification in 2025 I have discovered many gaps in this industry where I feel my team & I will make a difference. In NW MI we have many irons in the fire in terms of change, education, community outreach, workforce development and more.  Our program called Compassion & Grace : My final Journey Home facilitates hospital/ facility bound clients can go home if they wish for their final journey. Also we can assist the client & family where there are in a facility  navigating through the final process and all the complex decisions that need to be made during this process.  Every three months we develop a team of cohorts in training for EOL Doula certification.& NEDA memberships.   With several community resources and stakeholders & creative collaboration -we feel once you go through our program you are fully prepared for the practical, spiritual, and professional skills to do death work.  We provide services on sliding scsle do no one is turned away.  We are developing “first mover” actions that will affect the entire nation in terms of access to services & providing a living wage for all End of Life Doulas.
