SUMMARY:Grief's Pilgrimage: Is it Love?
DESCRIPTION:LOVE SEEKERS 🗝♥️ in Dublin set out on a pilgrimage to Whitefriar Street Church on Valentine’s Day. They go to pray to the REMAINS of St. Valentine asking for LOVE \n\n\n\nBut what if\, instead of seeking external love\, we embarked on a pilgrimage within? \n\n\n\nJoin me for “Grief’s Pilgrimage: is it love?” a deeper conversation exploring the complex intersections of grief\, love\, and death. This isn’t a typical Valentine’s Day event. It’s a journey of devotion to grief and self-love\, 🌙 beginning under the full moon on February 12. \n\n\n\nIn this virtual gathering\, we will: \n\n\n\n• Dismantle the cliché “grief is love” and its impact on those in complex relationships with their deceased \n\n\n\n• Explore how grief expands our capacity for love\, beyond the traditional narratives \n\n\n\n• Challenge the notion of acceptance and instead embrace integration and radical self-devotion \n\n\n\nThis is a space for truth\, vulnerability\, and transformation—where grief is not romanticized\, but honored for the profound impact it has on our hearts and lives \n\n\n\nSet out on this pilgrimage and find a deeper connection to yourself and your journey through grief \n\n\n\nEmbark on the Virtual Pilgrimage: Love\, Grief\, and the Journey to Self-Devotion with Death Priestess\, Kristy Sue \n\n\n\nContact organizer for link to this event \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n•

SUMMARY:Imbolc: Celebrating a Seasonal Shift
DESCRIPTION:“New growth happens\, not in spite of autumn & winter\, but because of autumn & winter.” -Brigit Anna McnillImbolc is an old Celtic festival that marks an energy shift as autumn and winter’s decay begin to feed new life. Join basketmaker and funerary artisan Michael Marie to celebrate the everchanging seasons. Attendees are invited to weave a Cros Bhríde of willow or rush. This is an old Irish tradition tied to the Celtic goddess and Catholic patron saint Brigit\, two figures forever intertwined in lore and history. The weavings are traditionally hung on rafters or doorways to bring good luck for the oncoming year. In the spirit of this seasonal shift\, we will also have resources on different end-of-life options that enable our own death and decay to be life-giving than conventional options. Learn about body and organ donation\, natural burial\, upcoming alternatives to cremation\, alternatives to products made overseas\, and more. This event is open to all! Bring a dish to share if able (pot-luck style) and come chat\, weave\, and hang out with new friends. Weaving will ongoing throughout and begin at ~5:30 pm

SUMMARY:Climate Café
DESCRIPTION:What is a Climate Café?A climate café listening circle is a welcoming space where fears and uncertainties about our climate and ecological crises can be safely expressed.  Together we create a container that is strong enough to allow exploration of complex feelings and thoughts that are often taboo and hard to talk about.  Research shows that while most people feel alone with their feelings\, the majority are concerned about climate change. You are not alone. Talking about these feelings in groups can help make them bearable.  We can engage with difficult truths while staying connected and grounded. \n\n\n\nSpace will be held by two experienced facilitators (trained through the Climate Psychology Alliance) for up to 10 people.  In this friendly and supportive setting\, we will:-focus on feelings rather than action-temporarily set aside issues of climate policy\, science or action-refrain from advice-giving \n\n\n\nTo register: Space is limited. To secure your space ahead of time\, please email mideathcare@gmail.com. \n\n\n\nFacilitators:Kennedy Williams is a 2022 graduate of the Environmental Sciences program at WMU.  She leads the Air Quality Monitoring project for the Institute of Public Scholarship. \n\n\n\nDonna McClurkan is a former RN and owner of Well Held End-of-Life Doula Services\, LLC.  Her passions include local food\, pollinator habitat gardening\, and visiting schools\, libraries\, and hospices with her certified therapy dog\, Stormy.
